It was one of those predictable complimentary breakfasts that come with many hotel rooms. We came at the end of the serving time, so the choices were a little sparse. Cereal, bagels, a couple of Danish, and a muffin or two were still on the buffet. It would do until a more substantial lunch.

My daughter had major spinal surgery in August so I've been focused on helping her and taking care of her 3 little ones. While having dinner with my husband at Famous Dave’s restaurant the fire alarm went off. It was a very loud, screeching sound that did not stop. We learned later that only the fire department could de-activate the alarm system. What struck me as odd was that nobody in the entire restaurant stopped eating or moved from their seat.
