While having dinner with my husband at Famous Dave’s restaurant the fire alarm went off. It was a very loud, screeching sound that did not stop. We learned later that only the fire department could de-activate the alarm system. What struck me as odd was that nobody in the entire restaurant stopped eating or moved from their seat. They all continued eating as if nothing had changed. The wait staff kept on taking care of customers, the people kept eating. They acted as if there was no alarm going off, and trust me it was an invasive sounding alarm.
It struck me as I observed my fellow diners that this is how many people are in the world is today. They’ve been told that Jesus is going to judge the earth but before He does He will take those who are prepared to heaven with Him. Yet, they don’t prepare. They don’t follow His ways. They act as if there is nothing to worry about. But in reality the alarm is sounding. Jesus is coming soon. And only those who have obeyed his commands will go with Him to heaven.
The story of God’s command is recorded in Acts chapter 2 in the Holy Bible. The people in
“And Peter answered them, Repent (change your views and purpose to accept the will of God in your inner selves instead of rejecting it) and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of and release from your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
For the promise [of the Holy Spirit] is to and for you and your children, and to and for all that are far away, [even] to and for as many as the Lord our God invites and bids to come to Himself”.
Just like these verses from the Holy Bible says. The Holy Spirit is for everyone! You will know you’ve received the Holy Spirit when you speak in an unknown language. A very special, inner feeling will come over you and a deep peace will fill you. It’s the most wonderful experience in the world!
Write me and tell me if you’ve sought the Holy Spirit or if you’ve spoken in tongues. Let’s share and grow together.

1: Yes, I have experienced the Spirit of God coming into my life and speaking in tongues. It is awesome to think that the Creator of the universe loves me enough to live inside me. His Spirit is transforming! I am amazed by it all!
2: I have to admit I am somewhat of a people watcher and I have seen the same attitude and spirit in people where I live. They ignore the call of God as they go about their busy lives, but let's face it had we not heard very loud and clear and been tuned into God's call we would still be the same way. A short time ago God woke me up in the middle of the night dealing with my heart as he often does and the words in my head were "Jesus is coming, Jesus is coming" The thought came to my mind of Paul Revere as he warned his countrymen that the British were coming his words were as his horse galloped across the countryside "the British are coming, the British are coming". We need to be as Paul Revere. As the children of God he has commissioned us to sound the alarm "Jesus is coming" if our countrymen choose not to hear the only thing we can do is keep on sounding the alarm and let God do the rest. We are here to plant and to water the seed of the word. It is God that gives the increase. Rest assured God's word will not come back void. (e.i. there will be some that choose not to hear but there will be some that will hear and repent but only if we continue to sound the alarm. No matter where we are or what we are doing let us be a witness of God's greatness and keep sounding the alarm!
3: I had to submit another thought about this. You had stated that when the alarm went off at the restaurant that even the wait staff did not react to it. My thought is that maybe that's why the customer's did not react to it. If the people who worked for the restaurant did not fear that there was any danger then the customer's would assume there was no immediate danger and keep on eating. That also I think is happening in this world. Many that claim to be Christian's don't live in the fear of God and by his word and they don't appear to be alarmed at his soon coming so those around them don't sense any immediate danger and ignore the alarm. We as true Christians must react to God's alarm by living according to his word at all times and by living in the fear of God or no one else is going to. |
